Whiskey Sliders

Easy & delicious, these sliders will surely satisfy! Of course these were seriously given the stamp of approval by my soldier.

Whiskey Sliders from The Foodie Army Wife

What is a "slider"? Nothing more than a "little" burger. Not big enough for a standard sized bun, you can serve these on dinner rolls.

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Salt & Pepper 2 lbs. of ground beef. (You could also use turkey, caribou, moose, etc)

1

Add 2 tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce.

2

Mix with your hands until just combined, then form the meat into 8 little patties. Give them a slight indentation in the middle, as this keeps them from "puffing up" too much when they cook.

3

Pop them in your oven, and bake them for 20-25 minutes.

In a skillet, sauté a diced onion in 2 tablespoons of butter.

4

Aren’t the onions looking scrumptious?

5

Time to get them drunk! If you are using a gas stove, please momentarily shut off the eye…

Pour in 1/2 cup Whiskey.

6

Turn your eye back on and let that cook down until the liquid is reduced by about half.

Add in 1 cup of your favorite Barbecue Sauce.

7

Now for an either-or. You’re going to add some peppers. You can chop up a couple chipotle peppers, or use some jalapeno slices.

8

I decided to go with the jalapenos. Drop a few in there, and let them simmer just a couple minutes.

9

Take your cooked burgers, and place them in the skillet, turning them over to coat them. Let them continue to simmer for a couple more minutes.

10

This is optional, but while the patties are bathing in the sauce you can brown your rolls, cut-side-down in another skillet, with a little butter.

11

12

And serve on the rolls, topped with some more peppers if you like.

13

Or you can use dinner rolls. Enjoy!
