Welcome to The Foodie Army Wife, #UBP13 Hoppers!

A few years ago, I saw someone use this odd hashtag on twitter. So I did a search to see what it was, and found this neat blog hop event – and I found some fantastic blogs that I still follow to this day.  Well, the time has come around again, so I’m writing this post to welcome all of you “hoppers” that have come to my sight for the very first time.

My name is Conni – I’m the homeschooling mother of three almost completely grown kiddos…A graduate, an almost graduate, and a high school student. I’ve been an Army Wife for almost 22 years, and our family has live for the past two and a half years in Alaska!

I’ve shared stories of our hunting trips, or fishing trips to Valdez where we experienced the amazing salmon run and where we saw eagles, sea lions, sea otters and GRIZZLIES.

I’ve shared my night owl hobby of light-stalking. That is..chasing the Aurora Borealis.

And in a few weeks, I will blog the entire way across the continent as we travel down the Alaskan Highway through Canada and move to our new home in Northern Alabama!

As you can guess from the name “The Foodie Army Wife” – I mostly blog about food! I share step by step recipes for your family to enjoy. Things like German Apple Pie

Mongolian Beef & Broccoli

And Pumpkin Breakfast Muffins just to name a few.

In addition to these, I also have a new weekly project called “#OperationShutterbug” with weekly photography assignments.  And of course, I occasionally write about Army Wife Life.

Hi Connie! Over from UBP and so excited to find another military mom blog :) My husband is active duty Air Force and we are stationed in MT right now with our 4 kids. I also have a mostly food blog that I tinker with so it's always fun to find someone with similar interests!

    Thanks!

Yes we are! 3 summers ago we did this from North Carolina to Alaska. And we\’ll do it again, with just a slightly different destination. Camping the whole way! :)

Hi Conni – I am already following you on twitter. I can't wait to read more about your light stalking adventures and hesitantly the hunting. My husband would love it if I got into it, I just can't bring myself to go with him. Maybe you can shed some light for me..
Also my husband just mentioned that he will be willing to try whatever I cook, I will have to try your beef and broccoli. Usually I'm limited with the meat and potatoes man I have.

Hi, I found you through UBP13. I'm kind of a newb to blogging, but I'm loving it so far. I'm an educator, former foster parent (for kids with emotional, physical, and mental disabilities) and adoptive dad of two kiddos with special needs. It's been great reaching out, talking to, and hopefully helping other families! My whole blog is all about learning to learn and helping families succeed using brain-based practices. Come check it out. I think you will like it!
