Real Army Wife ~ Real Food ~ Real Life

This past Autumn, I went on several berry-picking expeditions out in the tundra. On one of the trips, I picked scads of cranberries for just this reason. There is nothing better, and simpler, than homemade cranberry sauce.

It happens every Thanksgiving or other holiday meal. What on earth do you do with the leftovers?! Well, here is my favorite thing to do with leftover mashed potatoes. Kartoffelpuffer!

Looking ahead to Thanksgiving, I’m going to share this lovely goody with you. This pie is a nod to the traditional Pecan pie, with a bit of a difference. It uses Walnuts instead of Pecans, and Maple Syrup instead of Karo. The results are delicious!
