The other day I was walking through the grocery store and glanced down to see a childhood favorite.
Saltwater Taffy.
Yes, Saltwater taffy!
Ahh…immediately I was taken back to my childhood. I remember going on our annual family trips to Wisconsin Dells. I remember standing on the sidewalk and watching through the window as the candy man pulled that massive pile of taffy by hand.
I remembered watching him swirl and fold the fudge on the large marble slab.
I remembered the feeling of that fudge simply melting on my tongue.
Then I remembered the cheese curds…the way they squeaked on my teeth.
Oh the memories!
All from seeing that bag of Saltwater Taffy.
