The other day, the kiddos and I went for a hike at the Angel Rocks Trail, about an hour from Fairbanks. On the way there, we saw some moose.

This may not seem like a very long hike….but what that sign doesn’t tell you, is that in that 1.2 miles, there is an elevation change of 1,000 feet!

4

That’s 100 flights of stairs people!

It was a gorgeous day for a hike….once we got high enough to leave the hoards of mosquitoes behind.

On this particular formation, there was a deep crevice in the rocks…so we took a few pictures in there.

Note someone climbing over the top!

After we were done with the hike, we headed back to the van. Jack ran over to the river with his fly rod, and as I was about to switch out my camera lenses, I looked over to see his rod tip bent over.

This was probably the frosting on the cake for him today.

What a gorgeous day it was….I can’t wait to go again! I’ll share some more pictures of the views in the next “Wordless Wednesday” post.

How are you enjoying the beginning of summer?
